Workshop on Women peace builders against hate speech,misinformation and disinformation



Location: Bamenda (Ndamukong Baptist Church)


Date: June 1, 2022


Goal: To help Women Peace Builders deconstruct stereotypes and misinformation which causes hate and less development


Workshop Objective: To restore/bring hope to the hopeless in situations caused by the brunt of the 5-year ongoing socio political and economic crisis which has rendered and left many women and families traumatized, helpless and depressed.



Activities Carried Out:



- Participants Learned about the negative information stereotypes affecting their communities, which could be deconstructed to reduce tensions and enhance social cohesion.


- Participants also Learned how to recognize and address misinformation and information discrimination particularly when rooted in the lack of knowledge of diverse origins and interventions.


- Participants Acquired media literacy competencies, social media techniques to promote, and understanding in the usage of the media.


- Participant were expected to Develop independent skills in media production and content such as videos, radio podcasts, and articles to create alternative narratives and foster dialogue and understanding
